Back to the Basics #4
(Paul says:)
Here's another play list with November's listening reflected. I was hoping to do some Christmas ones before it got too late, but since I work both mornings and nights for the remainder of this week, I probably won't have time. Sorry about that!
I was asked by someone the following question: "What do you expect me to do with these postings?" My reply to this person, and to you, Gentle Reader, is to listen to them when you can; you don't need to make a special effort, but just click play on one of the lists whenever you check your e-mail, surf, shop, or whatever you do online. It's intended to be background music while you get your shizzle done! My hope is that you will hear something that moves you to click back when you say to yourself, "That's cool! I wonder who this is?"
Until next time!

Back to the Basics #3
(Paul says:)
Sorry for so many posts in one week. Now that I'm working two full-time jobs (one of which is scheduling overtime), I need to make posts when I can, and today is one of those days. Besides, it will give you something to do during any holiday-oriented vacation time you may have.
This is more of the stuff I listened to in November but didn't have any time to post. Some of the groups are the same as the previous Back to the Basics list because of the listening to a group in more depth than one album or wanting to share more than three songs off a particular album.
I hope you will find something you like. Don't forget to e-mail any comments to ross_and_paul@yahoo.com.

A Tribute to Rich Baron
(Paul says:)
I previously mentioned that I recently ran into Rich Baron, my old keyboard player from "The Moment" when I lived in Logan. I thought I would try to convey what a great keyboardist and vocalist he is by providing a play list of tunes he sang or played as well (or sometimes better!) than the original artists. (I mentioned some of these before, way back in April, but here it is again. Sorry for the redundancy. Sorry I repeated myself. Sorry I said the same thing multiple times.)
Ironically, Rich has been playing a lot of guitar lately, and when we can arrange it, we'll get together and jam a bit. I look forward to that, too!
We had a blast playing these songs, and I hope you'll like listening to them!

Back to the Basics #2
(Paul says:)
This is more of the stuff I've been listening to over the last month. Some of the artists are the same as on the previous list (and the next four) because I have spent time trying to delve into certain artists (and I pulled out my Boston discs for the first time in quite a while and wanted to give samples of each of them). You'll also find that one of my favorite albums to come out in a long time is Brad Paisley's new "Play: The Guitar Album." I hope you will indulge me a little on that front, as the next several lists contain some of the many gems from that recording. I didn't trouble myself to make a list this time; you'll just have to listen to see what's on here (aside from what I've mentioned).
Also, some of these will have Christmas music interspersed, and #6 will likely have a chunk because it's getting to be that time of year. I hope that, if you listen at other times of the year, you can either endure them or fast forward. Or maybe you can remember how the Christmas season often makes people more friendly and courteous when you least expect it.
Cheers!
