Back to the Basics #1

(Paul says:)
For most of the history of this blog, I have been preachy and lectured the
industry on the missed opportunities they have declined while promoting vapid
artists more for their abilities to sell posters than to make good music.

Now it's time for a change of direction. Actually, there are two directions I would like to take this blog. Part one has to do with the subtitle of the blog itself - "What We Listen To" - and part two is related to exploring new sounds (or, at least, new to me/us). For the time being, those two things will be combined, as this first playlist will include some things I've always been interested in but never explored - such as a more complete collection of Supertramp tunes, Blackfoot and Uriah Heep - and some tunes by artists with whom we're all probably familiar but that either were minor hits or album tracks (see Loverboy and Hall and Oates, for example). Many of these are discs from my collection, as well, that I thought worthy of sharing with y'all.

I hope you will enjoy my sharing these tunes with you. Most of these discs are
ones that I've listened to at work over the past few weeks. I'll be posting a new
list every few weeks, and I would appreciate any feedback. Also, please try to give them an open-minded listen. While some of these tracks may not be your cup-of-tea (nor mine, for that matter), I hope we all can find something to appreciate here.

Apologies (not necessarily to Pearly)

(Paul says:)
I just wanted to apologize to the few faithful readers of this illustrious blog for not writing for almost two months. Working two jobs will do that to a person. I have some things cooking, though, so stay tuned!

I wanted to shout out to my friend and former band mate Rich that I ran into last night in case he visits this blog. It was cool to see him again after many years.
