Dedication

(Paul says:)
A bit of a different thing for today, my friends. Usually, this blog is just about music, but I wanted to dedicate a song to one of my sports heroes, Brett Favre. I'm not a Vikings fan (but I became a Packers fan largely because of Favre and the joy of watching him play). In fact, I cheered against them tonight for the New Orleans Saints, partly because the Saints hadn't ever been to the Super Bowl.

For those that didn't see the finish, it ended like this: the Vikings had the game wrapped up; all they needed was a few yards and they could call their last timeout and kick a long (but well with Ryan Longwell's range) field goal to win the game. Favre rolled out and could've run for 5 or 10 yards. Instead, he made an ill-advised throw across his body to the middle of the field, and the Saints' defender picked off the pass. The Saints later won the coin toss and controlled the ball for the entire overtime, kicking a game-winning field goal of their own.

The point is, I don't want Favre's great career to end on that stupid pass, so I'm hoping, in my own little way, to encourage him to come back for one more season. Please?

P.S. I was just going to put Styx's "Don't Let It End," but Yngwie Malmsteen is awesome enough that included his song of the same title. Both are live versions - enjoy - and thanks for indulging me.
